Sign of the Times

Yesterday we went on a field trip in the pouring down rain to the Lincoln Park Zoo. Before leaving, on the board Noah had this spectacular painting by Manet posted on the board- kinda like a countdown image for Noah's arrival to summertime in 8 days. Anyhow, the kids in his class were asked to tell the story of this image and were discussing what must have happened before the event in the painting occurred. One kid raises his hand and says this, "Their names are Sam and Mille. This is their first date and they don't know each other. They just met a few hours before this event on Facebook." Manet could have never imagined a critique like that, I am sure.
