Traditions and Delights

Noah this, Noah that!
It appears as if Noah Clay has fixed a spot in the hearts, minds, and memories of many a lady here in Brookie-Wookie. If good stories didn't come out of these ladies, I might have to open my can of whoopass!
For example:
The fifth grader downs the street, "Hi Noah" as we BOTH walk out of the house.
Pamela at the Y who takes our cards says, "Well hello Noah. Good morning!" Noah goes once a week, me four to five!
Then finally, one of the ladies next door stays and talks with Noah for a while today as his giant Oatmeal Pile burns in the oven. She tells an interesting story.
The people who lived here earlier used to have evergreens and bird feeders in order to attract the cardinals. When they were no longer in the house, the cardinals left because of lack of food. Over christmas, Joeann got us a bird feeder and the birds love our backyard and we love to watch them over morning coffee. Anyhow, the cardinals are back. Then she tells us about how her and her family used to await the return of a Robin couple that would lay a nest and eggs every year for over 20 years. Last year, they didn't arrive and the block determined that they chose our house. These birds were another reason, by the way, we picked this place. Anyhow, the birds are back and they are not robins- bummer. They are these really in love and tame Doves. I call them the suburban pigeon just glamorized.
